Mailbox Monday #164

Mailbox Mondays (click the icon to check out the new blog) has gone on tour since Marcia at A Girl and Her Books, formerly The Printed Page passed the torch. This month’s host is the Metro Reader.

Kristi of The Story Siren continues to sponsor her In My Mailbox meme.

Both of these memes allow bloggers to share what books they receive in the mail or through other means over the past week.

Just be warned that these posts can increase your TBR piles and wish lists.

Here’s what I received this week:

1. Heading Out to Wonderful by Robert Goolrick, unrequested from Algonquin

2.  All Woman and Springtime by Brandon Jones, unrequested from Algonquin

3. Messenger by Lois Lowry from the library sale for 50 cents.

4. Resistance by Anita Shreve from the library sale for 50 cents.

5. Hunted by P.C. Cast + Kristin Cast from the library sale for 50 cents.

6. Black Beauty by Anna Sewell for 50 cents from the library sale.

7. American Dervish by Ayad Akhtar, which I won from Under My Apple Tree.

8. The Devil Himself by Eric Dezenhall, which I bought at The Writer’s Center at the reading of Eric and Eric D. Goodman, author of Tracks (which I reviewed this year and loved). Thanks to both for a good reading and for signing my books.

What did you receive this week?

  1. I really want to read The Devil Himself. I loved Resistance. One of my favorite Shreve novels. Enjoy!

  2. It looks like a really nice and varied selection. There is something there to suit just about every reading mood. I hope you enjoy them all!

  3. So many great books and I loved Messenger. Have you read The Giver? Enjoy your loot!

  4. Wow! You got a nice mailbox…hope you enjoy them all. I’ve been noticing All Woman and Springtime…also, the Anita Shreve book is going on my list, as I haven’t read that one. Thanks for sharing.

  5. I love library sales although I tend to stay away from them because I have no more room for books!

  6. Great sounding books in your “mailbox”! Enjoy!! 🙂

  7. Enjoy! all of your books, a great reading week ahead.

  8. I read Resistance with my book club and while most of them didn’t care for it, I loved it. American Dervish is one that I would like to get my paws on. Enjoy your new goodies!

  9. The Algonquin books sound very good and I’ve seen them on several blogs but the books you purchased at a library sale are what really caught my eye! Messenger and Resistance sound excellent and Black Beauty is a long-time favorite from my childhood. It’ll be a wonderful book to share with your daughter one day!

Have fun reading all your new books!
