Mailbox Monday, created by Marcia at To Be Continued, formerly The Printed Page, has a permanent home at its own blog.
To check out what everyone has received over the last week, visit the blog and check out the links. Leave yours too.
Also, each week, Leslie, Vicki, and I will share the Books that Caught Our Eye from everyone’s weekly links.
Here’s what I received:
1. Extractions by Melissa M. Firman, downloaded from Kindle.
In this short story, a slight moment of deception is all it takes for Kari to realize how quickly and suddenly her carefully-crafted life could be destroyed.
2. Countdown by Mira Grant, which I downloaded to Kindle after reading the three books in the NewsFlesh series.
The year is 2014, the year everything changed. We cured cancer. We cured the common cold. We died. This is the story of how we rose.
When will you rise?
What did you receive?
Both look excellent!
Happy reading!
I tend to stay away from a lot of the Austen-inspired books out there, because sometimes they feel very cheesy to me, but this book actually sounds charming and intriguing.
Enjoyed reading the blog today. The books sound like ones I would enjoy.
Thank you for the chance of winning!
I have signed copies of the Newsflesh series they sound so good! Glad you found them worthwhile.
They both sound interesting, enjoy!
Hi Serena,
I am intrigued by the scant premise for ‘Extractions’, although at just 7 pages long, it has to be worth the time to check it out.
I’m not sure that the ‘NewsFlesh’ series is something I would enjoy, so do you think that if I read ‘Countdown’ that would give me a good indicator one way or the other, or would it spoil the series books?
Have a great week and thanks for sharing.
Yvonne

Thanks for popping in.
Countdown seems really good. I hear you are a new administrator. Cogratulations!
administrator? I’m confused.
Extractions sounds interesting.
It was interesting, just too short for me.
I want to read more Mira Grant too!
I did too, so I couldn’t resist
Both books are new to me. Enjoy them and have a good week.
I read the three books in the NewsFlesh Trilogy, so I had to get the e-novella! And the other is written by the blogger from Betty and Book Chronicles, a book blog.
