Mailbox Monday #134 and Library Loot #5

Mailbox Mondays (click the icon at the right to check out the new blog) has gone on tour since Marcia at A Girl and Her Books, formerly The Printed Page passed the torch.  This month our host is A Sea of Books.  Kristi of The Story Siren continues to sponsor her In My Mailboxmeme.  Both of these memes allow bloggers to share what books they receive in the mail or through other means over the past week.

Just be warned that these posts can increase your TBR piles and wish lists.

Here’s what I received this week:

1.  Before Ever After by Samantha Sotto from Shelf Awareness.

2.  Ten Beach Road by Wendy Wax from Joan Schulhafer Publishing & Media Consulting for review in the fall.

3.  Whiplash by Catherine Coulter, which my husband found in our Sam’s Club cart; I’ll probably give this one to my mom since it’s more her cup of tea.

4. The Very Thought of You by Rosie Alison from Shelf Awareness.

These are from the library sale, only one for me though:

5. Dubliners by James Joyce

6. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

7. Across Five Aprils by Irene Hunt

8. The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis

9. The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis

10. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C.S. Lewis

11. The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis

Library Loot:

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire and Marg that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries!

12. Toys by James Patterson & Neil McMahon

13.  If I Stay Gayle Forman

14.  Where She Went by Gayle Forman

What did you receive this week?

  1. Wow, you found some good ones at the library sale.
I liked Ten Beach Road. Read Dubliners many years ago – liked it. I’ll watch for your reviews!

  2. Wow, you have a nice stack of books this week in your mailbox.
    Happy Reading,

  3. Hmm…wondering how a book just ended up in your Sam’s Club cart. LOL Enjoy all your new books!

    • To be honest, it was in the cart outside when we got it from the return thing, and I just plopped it in the car before we went in the store. I figured why not…mom would like it.

  4. Wow, you’ve got a great mailbox this week. I still have to read the Narnia books. I have a big chunkster on my shelf somewhere. I liked Ten Beach Road – it’s a great summer read.

  5. I’ve never read the Narnia books either! Can’t wait to see what you think of them!

  6. Looks like a good haul of books there! Hope you enjoy!!

  7. Beth Hoffman says

Wow … you had a terrific mailbox this week! Happy Reading.

  8. I got Before Ever After too. You found some great books at the library sale. I got Across Five Aprils for the War challenge at the urging of Candace of Beth Fish Reads. Enjoy your new books!

    • Across Five Aprils is one of my favorite books from high school set during the Civil War. You’re in for a treat

  9. Haven’t read any of them. Seen a lot of CS Lewis in there… one of your favs?

    • I’ve actually never read the Narnia books, so I’m taking the opportunity to read them to my newborn even though she’s not old enough to understand them.

  10. Hope you end up liking most of these. The Very Thought of You sounds good.

  11. What a nice mailbox. Such a mixed selection of books always ends up with good reading as well.
