Another Challenge Failure

I signed up for the All About Brontes Reading Challenge last year, and unfortunately, the deadline was June 30.

I only had 6 months to read or watch 3 to 5 Bronte books or movies.  I had planned on reading the following books and watching the following movies:

1.  Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte (Book/Movie)
2.  Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte (Book/Movie)
3.  The Secret Diaries of Charlotte Bronte by Syrie James (Book)
4.  Emily’s Ghost: A Novel of the Bronte Sisters by Denise Giardina (Book)

I didn’t read any of these books or watch any of these movies.  I will try to read or watch some of these during the rest of the year.  Hooray for deadline extensions!

Comments

  1. I’ve been failing more than I’ve been completing these days, Serena. Must be a sign I need to sign up for fewer challenges!

  2. I wouldn’t consider this one a failure at all. In fact, I think you did a great job!

  3. Don’t feel too bad Serena. I don’t think I’m going to make the mark on any of my challenges this year. I’m doing horribly.

  4. Oh well. Good thing they don’t charge a fine. I’m posting my mid-year update tomorrow and I’m dropping one. I got a little over-zealous at the beginning of the year…

  5. Better luck next time.

  6. Well, you had the best of intentions. I’m glad you have a great attitude about it and plan to read the books anyway.

  7. The Brontes are my favorite authors and I do hope that you’ll get the chance to read their books in the future!

  8. Oops, I thought it was a year long challenge. I even read Wuthering Heights, I just haven’t gotten around to posting about it. I’m going to follow your suggestion and extend my deadline!

  9. I think that’s very inspirational to extend the deadline. Since I’m so afraid of failing challenges that attitude just might be the cure for me! :–)
