I’m Hosting Mailbox Monday #150

by Serena on October 31, 2011

First, I would like to congratulate (Dianne) on winning Lost Edens by Jamie Patterson from the last Mailbox Monday giveaway.

Stay tuned for the next giveaway later on in the post, but for now, let’s get to this week’s post.

***Also, stay tuned at Noon for the Stephen King’s IT Read-a-Long discussion post.

Mailbox Mondays (click the icon to check out the new blog) has gone on tour since Marcia at A Girl and Her Books, formerly The Printed Page passed the torch. Thanks to Amused by Booksfor hosting last month.

I hope in addition to leaving your post links in Mr. Linky that you’ll peek around Savvy Verse & Wit. Next Month, please visit the Mailbox Monday tour blog for the November MMs.

Kristi of The Story Siren continues to sponsor her In My Mailbox meme.

Both of these memes allow bloggers to share what books they receive in the mail or through other means over the past week.

Just be warned that these posts can increase your TBR piles and wish lists.

Here’s what I received this week:

1.  Camp Nine by Vivienne Schiffer for TLC Book Tour in November. The cover is just gorgeous.

2. Out of Oz by Gregory Maguire from HarperCollins.

Please leave your link below to your mailbox.

Next Month, please visit the Mailbox Monday tour blog for the November MMs.

Now, for the giveaway for the week.

I’m offering my gently used review copy of My Soul to Take by Tananarive Due (my review) to one lucky winner anywhere in the world. Just leave a comment on this post.

Deadline is Nov. 5, 2011, at 11:59PM EST.

Camp Nine seems to be a popular one this week. I think it would be one I would enjoy.

I’m on the Camp Nine tour as well. Can’t wait to read it, though I only have a few days.

By the way, love Tananarive Due

Hi Serena,

Thanks for hosting this one last time and for making your giveaways international, that is always much appreciated.

Congratulations to last weeks winner, I hope that you enjoy your book Dianne.

I love the sound of both your books this week, although ‘Out Of Oz’ is probably the most apt, given that I have just been to see the stage show of ‘Wicked’ in the Westend of London for the second time, absolutley brilliant!

Call me superficial if you’d like – but I, too, LOVE the cover of Camp Nine. I have a few Gregory Maguire books on my shelves – some read, some not – I like him most of the time, so I hope you enjoy your new Maguire. Thanks so much for hosting this month!

I can’t wait to hear what you think of the Oz book! Enjoy!

Camp Nine looks interesting! I like the “soft” look of the book cover. I think that the book’s perspective on Japanese Americans is going to be interesting. I definitely would love to know how they felt during that time. Looking forward to reading your review of it.

Camp Nine looks very interesting. We don’t find too many books about the Japanese internment camps. The little bit I have read about it has been very interesting. I’ll be putting that on my wish list! Thank you for hosting this month! You did a wonderful job!

20 Amused October 31, 2011 at 10:35 am

Enjoy your new books! Interested to see what you think of the new Maguire book.

21 Jo-Jo October 31, 2011 at 10:36 am

Both of these books look good to me, but I am especially interested in Camp Nine. Enjoy your new goodies!

24 Crystal @ I Totally Paused October 31, 2011 at 11:18 am

I had NO IDEA that final book in Maguire’s Oz series was out tomorrow! What a great find! I adore that series, I’ve been waiting for the conclusion forever :) I’ll have to go to the store tomorrow!

25 Wrighty October 31, 2011 at 12:20 pm

Ooh, the last Oz book — can’t wait to see what you think of it!

27 Alyce October 31, 2011 at 1:07 pm

I received Out of Oz also. No need to enter me in the contest!

28 Vicki October 31, 2011 at 4:00 pm

Both are new to me. Both look good!

29 Michelle @ The True Book Addict October 31, 2011 at 11:55 pm

Two great books you received! I have yet to read any of Gregory’s books and I own them all (except for the newest). I think that really needs to be remedied.

Hope you enjoy your books and have a great reading week. :)
