Welcome to the 47th Virtual Poetry Circle. I’m on my way back to Maryland from New York City and the wonderful gathering of book bloggers and publishing industry peeps that was Book Expo America and the Book Blogger Convention.  I’m probably too exhausted to post anything once I arrive home, so with this future self in mind, I’m pre-posting today’s virtual poetry circle. The poetry discussion must go on! Remember, this is just for fun and is not meant to be stressful. Keep in mind what Molly Peacock’s books suggested. Look at a line, a stanza, sentences, and images; describe what you like or don’t like; and offer an opinion. If you missed my review of her book, check it out here. We’re taking a step back in time to visit with the classic verse of Sara Teasdale:
Barter 
Life has loveliness to sell,
All beautiful and splendid things,
Blue waves whitened on a cliff,
Soaring fire that sways and sings,
And childrens's faces looking up
Holding wonder in a cup.

Life has loveliness to sell,
Music like a curve of gold,
Scent of pine trees in the rain,
Eyes that love you, arms that hold,
And for your spirit's still delight,
Holy thoughts that star the night.

Spend all you have for loveliness,
Buy it and never count the cost;
For one white singing hour of peace
Count many a year of strife well lost,
And for a breath of ecstasy
Give all you have been, or could be.
