Mailbox Monday #154

Mailbox Mondays (click the icon to check out the new blog) has gone on tour since Marcia at A Girl and Her Books, formerly The Printed Page passed the torch. This month’s host is the Mailbox Monday tour blog.

Kristi of The Story Siren continues to sponsor her In My Mailbox meme.

Both of these memes allow bloggers to share what books they receive in the mail or through other means over the past week.

Just be warned that these posts can increase your TBR piles and wish lists.

Here’s what I received this week:

1.Β  All That I Am by Anna Funder from the publisher for review in February.

2. The Penguin Anthology of 20th Century American Poetry edited by Rita Dove, which I purchased at Novel Places for Christmas for myself because apparently my husband says its no fun if I know what it is ahead of time.

What did you receive?

  • Hey, nothing wrong with buying a little something for yourself for Christmas. πŸ˜‰ That looks like a nice anthology.

    Have a great week!

  • All That I Am sounds good, I hadn’t heard of that title before.

I don’t mind buying my own books as Christmas gifts. That way I get what I want.

  • I’ve been looking for a poetry book for my daughter’s Christmas book box – your poetry anthology looks perfect! Enjoy your reading week!

    • I’m glad I could help. I hope you’ll think abut buying from your local bookstore or from my Amazon links to support the blog.

  • All That I Am sounds good — hope you enjoy it. And I can’t say that I object to knowing what a few of my gifts are in advance! But then, I’m also a believer in buying myself my own Xmas gifts, especially books! πŸ™‚

  • I think buying it for yourself is a great way to get something you will enjoy versus something you will end up donating to Goodwill because even after 26 years of marriage your husband still has no idea what to get you. Just saying, is all! Enjoy your books!

    • LOL I even give my husband a list and he still just gets whatever he wants to get me and I end up not wanting it. I hear you sister!

    • Thanks for stopping by to check out the books.

  • Great books! I always order the books myself for Christmas. At least I know I get the right ones πŸ˜‰ Hope you enjoy those!

    • I think that’s the best way to go. Otherwise I don’t get books at all!

  • All that I am looks amazing!! I can’t wait to see to see your review of it and hopefully I can get my hands on a copy of it too.

    • I hope you stop back to check out the reviews…

  • Amy

The Penguin Poetry Anthology looks like a great purchase! I think it’s awesome to treat yourself to a nice present! Enjoy, Serena!

    • I unintentionally treated myself. I really was hoping the hubby would just pick it up and wrap it, but that didn’t happen

  • Enjoy your early Xmas present! πŸ™‚

  • Bluestocking

I bought myself some books this week too! Not that I need any. My collection of books is now 1006.

    Here is mine

  • I’m sure you’ll fly through that anthology of poetry! Enjoy your reads!

  • All That I Am sounds really good!
I bought myself a couple of gifts this weekend πŸ™‚

Happy reading Serena. That poetry collection sounds great.

    • Thanks for checking out my mailbox.

  • Buying gifts for yourself is the perfect way to get exactly what you want. Enjoy your new books!

    • That’s what I said!

  • Dawn – She Is Too Fond of Books

That Penguin poetry anthology sounds perfect for you – enjoy your early Christmas gift πŸ™‚
