This weekend was Dewey’s 24-hour read-a-thon. I read on and off yesterday in between traveling to Anna’s house to celebrate her husband’s birthday. It was a great time and Wiggles was a very happy camper most of the time, but with three teeth coming in at once, she did have her cranky moments.
Ok, so you really want to know how much I read and of what. I finished up Mr. Dary’s Undoing by Abigail Reynolds at 11 PM last night, reading about 250 pages since I started it earlier in the week. Then I read about 10 more pages of Simon Pegg’s memoir, Nerd Do Well, before falling asleep.
Overall, I didn’t get much reading done, but it was fun. How did you do?
I did okay this time. I read Wonderstruck when it got late. It is a children’s book so it moved quickly and grabbed my attention. As long as you had fun that is all that counts. Teething…ick..I hope Wiggles isn’t feeling too poorly and those teeth come in fast.
You did great! I read about 180 pages this weekend, but I did most of my reading on Sunday well after the readathon ended. Good thing I didn’t sign up! 😉
Wiggles was a joy to have over and she wasn’t too cranky.
I’m glad you didn’t think Wiggles was too cranky. I was worried there when we got there and she was crying, but we did wake her up and she was hungry. But once that was taken care of she was happy go lucky.
Glad everyone had fun and got some reading done. thanks for stopping by the wrap-up post.
Me neither! But I had a ton of fun and that’s what counts. Sounds like you did too. 🙂
I read for 17 hours and managed to stay up for the entire event!! First time I lasted that long. 🙂
I’m glad you were able to take part! 🙂
17 hours is a lot. I was reading for far less than that.
You did really well considering you had Wiggles with you!
Thanks! She was a trooper.
Having fun’s the important part!
You’re right about that.
I didn’t get much reading done either (finished the last of Frankenstein, read The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbach, and started on The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory), but I stayed up later than I ever have, and it was fun! 🙂
You did better than I did since I only finished one book.
I meant to come by yesterday and give you a “cheer” … but time goes SO fast during this event. I’m feeling a bit sleepy today – made it through hour 20 which was my goal. Now I just have to write reviews *laughs*
No worries. Time gets away from you during these events.
I did do good, and I did not even take part 🙂
glad to hear it
Well, I was in your boat this time. So many distractions, and I definitely picked something too dense. But like I’ve been saying, I generally only read one print book a week so I’m ahead of the game. I think it would be so much fun to do a readathon with a friend. I’ve always envied you and Anna!
It’s good to be ahead of the game for the week. The only problem with reading together with someone is you get distracted and start chatting…lol
You took part – thats the spirit of it.
Thanks
I got three books read. My cumulative reading time was almost ten hours, so I got quite a bit of reading time!
You did great!
