Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Winter Lights in Gaithersburg

I know many of you have already celebrated Hanukkah this year, and I hope you enjoyed a blessed season.

For those celebrating Christmas and Kwanzaa, I wish you the best this holiday season.

We did find time to go skating outdoors with our daughter’s best friend’s family, see the winter lights in the car, and have some fun with Elf on the Shelf. It’s been a unique year for celebrations, but we’ve made it work as best as we can. My daughter will do her annual gift opening with her friends via Zoom this year, but they will still see each other.

I’m looking forward to a little bit of down time at the end of the year. But I’ll be happy to see my daughter open her presents.

I’ll post my Best of List next week.

If you missed the annual Poetry Reading Challenge, you can find that here.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We saw some really fantastic creations at this year’s Santa’s Workshop in town. The sculptures were all made by hand by one woman. She is clearly very talented, imaginative, and loves this time of year. She gave each kid a hand knit scarf or other present at the workshop too. I have no idea how she knew how many to make. It was a lovely gesture.

I wish everyone their own happy holiday season! Happy New Year! I hope 2020 is much better than 2019!

Here’s a photo of my daughter and her dad, doing what they love this season — picking out our Christmas tree and cutting it down. This year, she was thrilled that she could saw off some of the lower branches so we could fit it in the tree stand. For a first time, she found it was harder to hand saw a tree than she thought. I guess her dad makes it look too easy.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

I’m looking forward to our Christmas Eve gathering of friends where we enjoy Chinese food and company. It will be a fun time of games and gift giving.

I hope everyone has a happy holiday season. We deserve it. 2016 has been tough to take! Here’s to a better 2017.

Happy Holidays 2015

It’s amazing how quickly the end of the year arrives.  I was very far behind on all holiday fun.  I tried to make the best of it, and I hope that it went better for the rest of you.

I should have a best of list at some point, but there are a few books I want to finish up before Dec. 31.

Enjoy your family and friends, and a few good books.  I’m there with you in spirit.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

I just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a happy holiday season!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Savvy Holidays!

I wanted to wish everyone Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Today will be spent with family (Wiggles’ grandparents, my parents are visiting through the New Year) and friends (Anna and her family will be here for dinner and presents)!

I’m looking forward to having a great meal, some fun and games, and conversation, plus the first basketball game of the season is here! Celtics vs. Knicks! You can guess who will not be cooking!

I hope you all have a great holiday with family, friends . . . and with great food and of course dessert!
