Mailbox Monday #65

by Serena on January 18, 2010

Marcia at The Printed Page and Kristi of The Story Siren both sponsor memes in which bloggers share what books they’ve received in the past week.  I’m going to continue calling these Mailbox Mondays, but The Story Siren also has In My Mailbox.

This mailbox is another full one and I have no idea how that happened.

1.  The Radiation Sonnets by Jane Yolen
2.  The Woman I Kept to Myself by Julia Alvarez
3.  The Weight of Heaven by Thrity Umrigar
4.  Gargoyle 54
5.  Mrs. Darcy and the Blue-Eyed Stranger by Lee Smith
6.  Christening the Dancer by John Amen, a gift from the poet.
7.  An Arsonist’s Guide to Writers’ Homes in New England by Brock Clarke
8.  Watermark by Vanitha Sankaran
9.  Tainted by Brooke Morgan
10.  Burnt Shadows by Kamila Shamsie
11.  Stettin Station by David Downing

12.  Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith
13.  The Swan Thieves by Elizabeth Kostova
14.  The Monuments Men by Robert M. Edsel

Don't you love those weeks where the postman is dropping off packages day after day. I got The Swan Thieves as well, looks like it will be a great read!

I just finished Yolen's The Devil's Arithmetic, so I'm curious about the Radiation Sonnets. I also received The Monuments Men.

Happy reading!

I think I see some giveaways in your future! I read Burnt Shadows with my book club and I really enjoyed it. I was definitely in the minority, though.

OMG! Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter? I've not heard of this, but it set me off with giggles just thinking about it. Will have to pick this up just for laughs!

You got some great looking books! Mrs. Darcy and the Blue Eyed Stranger really appeals to me. I've read other books of hers and really liked them so I could even be tempted by this collection of short stories, which I normally avoid like the plague.
